After the successful launch of a Maserati Japan app, Audi came to use with a request to make one for them too.
Audi requested an app to convey the unique value and quality of one of their most luxurious automobiles to buyers in Japan.
Research: I Interviewed several Japanese luxury car buyers and learned that many of them were international travelers, or aspired to travel more. There was an appreciation for the history and culture of other countries' heritage and culture. Audi wanted to emphasize the discovery of Germany and german heritage. We designed each section of the app as a mystery, until visited. Once visited an image would mark the section that was explored. Racing Heritage, Manufacturing Plant, Accessories, Founders, and other parts of the app were revealed in pictures and stories. After having explored the whole app, users were left with images on the home page marking their journey of discovery.
Audi japan loved the iPad app and placed it in all their showrooms throughout Japan. Customers liked the experience so it was also included with every A8 purchase in Japan.
